“BINGATA” is the name given to the cloth that is dyed with multiple colored design. It has been traditionally made in OKINAWA for the past 500years.

The dyeing technique itself was presumably introduced from the southern China in the 14th century.

“BINGATA” was traditionally made for those who belong to the samurai-class and a royal family in the Ryukyu Kingdom.








Our shop “BINGATA KIJIMUNA” use this dyeing technique for familiar fabric articles(coaster, mini bag,T-shirt etc). These can be called more familiar  and modern “BINGATA” .

You can see and buy them in our shop. Moreover, you can experience this technique , and take the work home (A reservation is necessary beforehand to experience it.).
